Plasma CAD is free for personal and non-commercial work. If you use it in a business, for client work or to design products you sell, you need a commercial license. There's no checkout: you email us and a person replies with pricing, terms and an invoice.

Do you need a license?
One rule: if the work is paid for, or done for a business, it needs a commercial license. Everything else is free, with the full application.

Is the commercial version different software?
No. It's the same download with every feature. The commercial license covers business use.
Can I try it at work before buying?
Yes, for up to 30 days. Download the free version and try it on your real parts. For use after that, email us for a license.
I'm a solo freelancer. Do I need a license?
Yes, because client work is commercial. Tell us you need a single seat and we'll quote for one.
What about files I made under the free license?
They're yours. Your .cadpart, STEP, STL and DXF files carry no restrictions. The license covers how you use the software.
Our school or non-profit needs a signed agreement.
Educational and registered non-profit use is free. If your institution still needs paperwork or deployment help, email us anyway.
